Thinking about relocating to Fond du Lac from San Diego
Hey folks, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $61,620 in Fond du Lac. Median household income is $61,620, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $905 for rent here. The median home value here is around $161,300, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks for reading. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I work in legal here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is underrated. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 2 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Westside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The pet-friendliness scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
