Forest Acres quality of life -am I missing something?

My family moved here when I was a kid. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,182 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 10,491 people. With a population of 10,491, Forest Acres is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Lots of new development
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Not very walkable
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Mosquitoes and humidity
What neighborhoods would you suggest? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 2 years. Moved from Seattle for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is improving - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Homeless population growing downtown. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Nashville about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is solid.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..

The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is decent - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**

I've been in East for 3 years. Moved from San Diego for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
