Commute times in Forest City -how bad?

First post here. Homes are going for about $138,500 on average. Median household income is $58,125, which feels about average for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. What are your go-to spots? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in finance. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
