Thinking about relocating to Forest Hill from Albuquerque

So, I'm a teacher here and With a population of 13,923, Forest Hill is a small town. Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $171,300, which is actually reasonable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What would you do? Thanks in advance! The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 13 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
