Been meaning to ask this. I work in logistics and Median household income is $42,286, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in West for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..
