Working in Forest Park -salaries realistic?

Hey folks, I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $293,800 on average. The median home value here is around $293,800, which seems about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- The cultural scene scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The dating scene is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
