Why I chose Forest Park over bigger cities

First post here. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 19,994 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Forest Park? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

it depends on the neighborhood

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 6 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into running, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
