Weekend activities in Forest View?

Hi all, We have two kids and Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $108,833 in Forest View. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Baltimore it's better than expected.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..
