Top 5 things I love about Forestville

Crime rate is something to consider -Forestville sits at 363.5 per 100K. Household incomes average around $80,028 in Forestville. You can expect to pay around $1,694 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely excellent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely excellent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Eastside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 7 years. Moved from Tampa for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Limited high-paying job options. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
