So, I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 7.3%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Worth the trade-offs? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Salt Lake City it's pretty good.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 2 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been here 15 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is excellent.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is solid in most areas.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I'm a chef who relocated here from San Diego about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The cost of living is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
