Best neighborhoods to rent in Forney?

We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Forney sits at 126.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $323,500, which seems about average. You can expect to pay around $1,665 for rent here. Household incomes average around $103,360 in Forney. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? Cheers. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 45, moved here 14 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Midtown and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Can feel isolated
3. The dating scene situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Westside area are solid. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (The Heights) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The dating scene is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- The walkability scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..
