What's it really like living in Forrest City?

Longtime lurker here, The median home value here is around $87,800, which is actually reasonable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? Thanks for reading. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.

No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much competitive but now it's solid.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much competitive but now it's better than expected.
