Is Forsyth worth moving to in 2026?

We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Forsyth sits at 519.9 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $876 for rent here. Rent is about $876/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $191,600, which is actually reasonable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 8 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've been here 3 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is hit or miss.

I've been here 1 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Atlanta about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Oak Park area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely average and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (The Heights) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
