Housing in Forsyth compared to Los Angeles

Alright, Household incomes average around $44,352 in Forsyth. The unemployment rate is 0.2%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Eastside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The outdoor recreation scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 41, moved here 3 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Highland and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Affordable housing options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The safety situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for singles. tough vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 9 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is solid - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Road conditions need improvement. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 6 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
