Living in Fort Belvoir -the reality

Longtime lurker here, My partner and I are Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $3,212 for rent here. Household incomes average around $101,237 in Fort Belvoir. The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 13 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
