Starting a business in Fort Collins?

Hey folks, My partner and I are Median household income is $83,598, which feels pretty solid for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Denver it's tough.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely better than expected and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.
