What to expect moving to Fort Collins?

I'm a teacher here and It's a a mid-size city city with about 170K people. The unemployment rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Does this match your experience? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
