Job hunting in Fort Dodge -tips?

Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from San Diego and The median home value here is around $128,900, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 24,788, Fort Dodge is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here?

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.
