Hey everyone, Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 44--F, so bundle up in winter. With a population of 16,124, Fort Drum is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What do you all think? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
