Things Fort Drum needs to improve

Hello, Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $1,563 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 16,124 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I overthinking this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Pine Hills area are excellent. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
