Is Fort Hunt a good place to live?

Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $210,471, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $890,400, which is pretty steep. With a population of 16,519, Fort Hunt is a small town. Household incomes average around $210,471 in Fort Hunt. Poverty rate is 0.8%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Rising rent prices
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
Worth the trade-offs? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 15 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Westside area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Riverside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The housing market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..
