Fort Knox housing prices -when will it stop?

Poverty rate is 9.7%, which is pretty low. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

I'm a chef and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2019 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 35, moved here 10 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Pine Hills and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The housing market situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $90K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
