Fort Lauderdale quality of life — am I missing something?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I work in government and It's a a mid-size city city with about 183K people. Average temperature is around 76°F, so it's warm year-round. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much established but now it's solid.

Bought a house here in 2018 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
