Job market in Fort Lauderdale for tech?

Alright, Just moved here 11 months ago and It's a a mid-size city city with about 183K people. Household incomes average around $79,935 in Fort Lauderdale. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned? The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely solid and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
