Random thought, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 6.0%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 39,818 people. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Downtown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from San Francisco about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
