Random thought, I'm a teacher here and With a population of 15,317, Fort Leonard Wood is a small town. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.
