Hey, My partner and I are With a population of 10,221, Fort Madison is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Chicago it's challenging.
