First post here. Been living here since 2011. Rent is about $919/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $141,500 on average. The median home value here is around $141,500, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $35,131, which feels on the lower side for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much pricey but now it's hit or miss.

I work in government here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is excellent. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 4 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
