Affordable areas near Fort Meade?

First post here. With a population of 10,477, Fort Meade is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Fort Meade sits at 593.4 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this?

I've lived in Midtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
- The walkability scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
