Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and It's a a smaller city city with about 28,281 people. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Highland) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a writer and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

I've been here 7 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.
