Working remotely from Fort Myers — my experience

I've been working remotely from Fort Myers for 6 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Decent, getting better with new providers
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Fort Myers is underrated for remote workers.

Don't sleep on Oakwood. It's up and coming and still affordable.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Maple Heights. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Coming from Chicago, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

If you can afford it, Pine Grove is the best place to live. Period.
