The median home value here is around $222,100, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
