Hey folks, Household incomes average around $75,875 in Fort Rucker. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Miami about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..
