Is Fort Smith getting better or worse?

Hey everyone, I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. With a population of 89,496, Fort Smith is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $168,100 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
