Why I chose Fort Smith over bigger cities
Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Median household income is $52,692, which feels on the lower side for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Anyone in a similar situation? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.
