Best things about Fort Wayne that nobody talks about
As a 3-year resident, here are some things about Fort Wayne that don't make it into the guides:
1. There are amazing hiking trails 20 min from downtown
2. Community events happen almost every weekend
3. Cost of living is way better than people think

For families, I'd recommend looking at Highland Park. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Don't sleep on Southside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Maple Heights and Eastside are perfectly safe.
