Is it worth buying in Fort Wayne?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $60,293 in Fort Wayne. The median home value here is around $169,700, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $959/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here? It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 7 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into running, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
