I know this gets asked a lot but I grew up here, left for college, and came back 11 years ago. A friend just bought in West 7th for K and I'm not sure if that was smart. Nightlife is decent if you know where to go. What am I missing here?

Great question. Here's my honest take after 7 years:
The good:
- Good schools in certain areas
- Good internet
- Good farmers markets
The not-so-good:
- Property taxes
- Wind never stops
The weather took some getting used to but I actually love it now.. I'd say for families, Fort Worth is pretty good. DM me if you want more details.

Let me give you the perspective nobody asked for but everyone needs.
I've lived in Cultural District, Southlake, and currently in Ryan Place. Each one feels like a different city honestly.
Rent comparison:
- Cultural District: /mo for a 3-bed
- Southlake: about /mo
- Ryan Place: /mo but solid
Cost of living is {col_feel} compared to where I came from.. The key is finding your neighborhood. Once you do, Fort Worth really clicks.

Great question. Here's my honest take after 12 years:
The good:
- Affordable compared to coastal cities
- Good schools in certain areas
- Strong arts and culture scene
The not-so-good:
- Not very walkable
- Wind never stops
I've never felt unsafe walking around {hood} at night.. I'd say for families, Fort Worth is hit or miss. Good luck!

As someone who lives in West 7th, I keep discovering new spots even after {yr} years.. That said, your experience might vary by neighborhood.
