Worst intersection in Fort Worth? I'll start - Southlake
Hey,
I grew up here, left for college, and came back 1 years ago. The parks system here is underrated.
The weather averaging 69F year-round is {weather_feel}. Median income here is around which {inc_feel}.
What I like:
- Friendly locals
- Good airport
- Good farmers markets
What I don't:
- Rising rent
- Summers are brutal
- Homelessness visible downtown
The suburbs vs city debate here is real. I keep discovering new spots even after 1 years.

I've lived in Near Southside, Tanglewood, and currently in Keller. Each one feels like a different city honestly.
Rent comparison:
- Near Southside: /mo for a 2-bed
- Tanglewood: about /mo
- Keller: /mo but decent
The airport connections are {adj} which matters if you travel.. The key is finding your neighborhood. Once you do, Fort Worth really clicks. Happy to answer questions.

Great question. Here's my honest take after 12 years:
The good:
- Friendly locals
- Lots of new restaurants opening
- Safe neighborhoods
The not-so-good:
- Nightlife is lacking
- Hard to date here
Nightlife is decent if you know where to go.. I'd say for remote workers, Fort Worth is decent. Hope that helps!

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.
I moved to Southlake from Miami about 10 years ago. Initially I questioned my decision. But after settling in, Public transit is {transit_feel} - you'll want a car..
A few things I'd recommend:
- Check out Southlake and Cultural District for housing
- Explore beyond the popular neighborhoods
- Visit during different seasons if you can
The biggest adjustment was job market. Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable.. Overall I'd give Fort Worth a 9/10 for students.

Alright, I'm going to write the reply I wish someone had written for me when I was researching Fort Worth.
Background: 45, travel nurse, moved from Houston 3 years ago for my partner's job. Currently in Cultural District.
**Housing:**
The market is improving right now. We went with Cultural District because friends recommended it. Paid /mo starting out, now at /mo. If I could do it again, I'd look at Ridglea - it's affordable and the value is better.
**Work:**
real estate jobs are strong here. I was worried coming from Houston but the market is solid. Salary-wise, expect competitive for the cost of living.
**Social Life:**
This was my biggest worry. First 14 months were tough. Then I found my people through a dog park crew. Now I have a solid group. Fort Worth people are genuine once you break through.
**Day to Day:**
- Groceries: about average
- Traffic: manageable if you avoid rush hour
- Dining out: improving rapidly
- Entertainment: you make your own fun here
**Would I move here again?**
Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year.. For young professionals, I'd give it a 7/10.

**Neighborhoods ranked (my opinion):**
Tier 1 (if you can afford it):
- Keller: quiet, tree-lined streets, families
- Arlington Heights: family-friendly with good parks
Tier 2 (best value):
- Ridglea: best value in the city
- Near Southside: quiet but close to everything
Avoid (unless you know what you're doing):
- I won't name names but do your research on anything significantly below market rate
**Cost Reality Check:**
- 1-bed decent area: /mo
- 2-bed decent area: /mo
- Groceries for 2: /mo
- Car insurance: pretty good compared to national avg
- Utilities: /mo average
**The Honest Truth:**
The school system in {hood} is actually {adj}.. Fort Worth is growing but it's not for everyone. If you value quiet over diversity, you'll love it. If it's the other way around, maybe consider Indianapolis.

- Explore beyond the popular neighborhoods
The biggest adjustment was nightlife. Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year.. Overall I'd give Fort Worth a 7/10 for singles.
