Job hunting in Fort Wright -tips?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and With a population of 5,882, Fort Wright is a small town. The median home value here is around $305,500, which seems about average. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Should I be concerned? Thanks! The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The weather is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 48, moved here 2 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in Oak Park and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Close to major attractions
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The housing market situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Coming from New York, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
