Not sure if this has been asked before, but We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Fortuna sits at 227.3 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? Cheers. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in South area are underrated. Kids love it here.
