The good and bad of living in Fountain

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Fountain sits at 409.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 5.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $374,600 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've lived in Westside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The school system scene is average

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
