My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The cost of living scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

**What I love:**

**What I don't love:**

2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The healthcare situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

- Highland: Great for families. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

Coming from Boston, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $70K-$110K here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely excellent and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Eastside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
