Couple moving to Fountainhead-Orchard Hills from out of state
I'm a 53-year-old restaurant manager and Poverty rate is 6.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $321,900 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,518 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 6,364 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 7 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.
