Most overrated things about Four Corners

Longtime lurker here, The median home value here is around $312,300, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Four Corners sits at 131.6 per 100K. With a population of 60,443, Four Corners is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Low crime in most areas
- Strong sense of community
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- Not enough green space
Would love some local perspective. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 29, moved here 1 years ago from LA. I've lived in Sunset and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Can feel isolated
3. The healthcare situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for couples. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
