Studio apartments in Four Corners -options?

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,609/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Is this normal for Four Corners? Any help is appreciated. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 13 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

I've lived in The Heights for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
- The pet-friendliness scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The walkability is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 32, moved here 12 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Lakewood and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Close to major attractions
2. Affordable housing options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The nightlife situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $60K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
