Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,796 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Maple Ridge for 7 years. Moved from Houston for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is improving - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Chain restaurants dominate. And weather can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
