Homes are going for about $219,300 on average. Worth the trade-offs?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Miami it's tough.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
- The safety scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor recreation is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much pricey but now it's pretty good.
