Hi all, We're a young couple and Poverty rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. With a population of 6,746, Fox Point is a small town. Rent is about $1,693/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I overthinking this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The healthcare is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Asian.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to New York it's solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 7 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've been here 13 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.
