I've lived in Old Town for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The walkability scene is solid

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 3 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Boston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is improving.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..
